The profession of interpreter involves the spoken word and requires great skills in oral expression and immediate understanding of situations. It is both intellectually and physically tiring as an activity because it demands total concentration. In order to guarantee quality service, interpreters work in pairs and take over from each other every twenty minutes.

Byblos Traductions offers three types of interpreting services:

• Simultaneous interpreting

In his cabin, the interpreter listens to the speaker’s comments, which he translates and relays at the same time to the audience. This is simultaneous interpreting (type of event: conferences and congresses).

• Consecutive interpreting

The interpreter takes notes during the speech and reproduces the content every ten minutes. This is consecutive interpreting (type of event: meetings and group visits).

• Liaison interpreting

The interpreter whispers simultaneously to the audience, generally made up of no more than two or three people. This is liaison interpreting (type of event: small meetings and visits).
